♦Searching tips

  On the search screen there is a series of search text fields. In the selected field, add the free word, name or number that you want to search. These are free word, author's name, volume, number, pages (start-end), year of publication, and language (J. Wood Sci. only). Each of these fields corresponds to searchable information. Free word search finds matching in the data from the title of the paper, abstract, and keywords.

  You may use multiple search queries in a box by selecting button switch operators (and, or). These operators can be used to combine several search criteria in order to further refine a search and obtain more specific or relevant results. The operator "and" ensures that both search criteria are present in the resulting documents. The operator "or" ensures that at least one of the search criteria is present in the resulting documents.

  Search results are displayed either in a list form or in a datasheet form of each article. In a list form, display of the abstract is on demand. Those results are fully printable.

  As the character display is designed for web browser, HTML tags, such as italic, superscript, subscript, small capital, are embedded in the data. However, following two items are set always in large-capital to facilitate search operation.

• Characters (e.g. Greek) except standard ascii code can search with character entity tag in the following list.
• Several web browsers may not display some characters but the search can be executed.

♦JWRS Journal Archives 1955-2004 package contents

  JWRS Journal Archives 1955-2004 package includes the four CD-ROM discs and documentation.
  This database is based on the two journals, Mokuzai Gakkaishi (1955-2004) and Journal of Wood Science (1998-2004) published by the Japan Wood Research Society, including Original articles, Review, Rapid communication, Note and the corresponding Keywords and Abstracts. The Abstracts are all computerized and to be used for full searching. The original documents are provided in PDF file format, while those published in J. Wood Sci. are not included. The JWRS member can retrieve all the J. Wood Sci. papers from the web site of the Springer-Verlag.
